Northwest University Kano Hosts Key Events on Governance, Education, and Institutional Development

Northwest University Kano (NWU) hosted a crucial dialogue on the controversial Tax Reform Bill, organized by the Kano State Ministry for Higher Education.

The event brought together key stakeholders, government officials, and experts to discuss the proposed reforms and their implications.

 

The technical committee steering the dialogue was led by Professor Kabiru Isa Dandago, a prominent scholar in accounting. In his opening remarks, Professor Dandago emphasized the committee's mission to thoroughly analyze the tax reform bill and chart a path forward for Kano State and the nation.

The event was attended by His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, and Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, reflecting the state's commitment to inclusive governance and policy-making.

 

In addition to the tax reform dialogue, NWU also inaugurated an Implementation Committee for the Change of the University's Name. The committee, chaired by Professor Amina Salihi Bayero, aims to align the university's identity with its aspirations and values.

Furthermore, the university hosted a meeting with university-based unions and the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KACHMA).

 

These events demonstrate Northwest University Kano's role as a hub for critical discussions, innovative initiatives, and institutional progress.
