NOUN Chief Security Officer Tours South-South Study Centres

The Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Gp Capt Umar Mohammed Awe (rtd), has embarked on a security assessment tour of study centres across the South-South region.  

During his visit to the Port Harcourt Study Centre on December 2, 2024, Awe was received by the Centre Director, Dr. Theresa Ucheoma Ettu, senior staff, and security operatives. The visit included a facility tour and a closed-door meeting with the director.

Speaking to NOUN News, Awe stated that his mission was to assess security measures and address challenges, particularly during examinations. “My mission is to ensure the centres are secure and free from malpractices,” he said.

Following the Port Harcourt visit, the CSO continued his tour to Owhrode and Sapele Community Study Centres in Delta State.
