NOUN CSO Assures Lokoja Centre of Enhanced Security Measures
The CSO discussed issues related to theft and concerns with the host community with the security unit.
The Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Wing Commander Umar Mohammed Awe (Rtd), has assured the Lokoja Study Centre of improved security measures.
Awe made the commitment during his visit to the centre in Kogi State, where he conducted an on-the-spot assessment and addressed security challenges across NOUN study centres.
The CSO discussed issues related to theft and concerns with the host community with the security unit. He outlined plans to improve the centre’s security, including the installation of perimeter fencing, solar flood lights, a barb wire extension, and potentially CCTV systems.
Awe commended the security operatives for their efforts and urged them to continue prioritizing safety, emphasizing that security is a shared responsibility among management, staff, and security personnel.
In response, Dr. Bridget Yakubu, the centre’s director, expressed gratitude for the visit and the valuable insights on strengthening security at the centre. She also took Awe on a tour of the examination halls.
