NOUN Dei-Dei Centre Director Reports Growth in Student Enrollment, Requests Expanded Facilities

Prof. Samson Sunday Afolabi, Director of the Special Study Centre for the Nigeria Police Force at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Dei-Dei, Abuja, has reported significant progress in student enrollment at the centre.

In an interview, Prof. Afolabi noted that despite last year's high inflation and increased costs, the centre has seen a rise in student numbers compared to previous years. He attributed this to the satisfaction of returning students with the centre’s services, which has encouraged them to re-enroll.

He commended the management for renovating the centre, which has enhanced the environment for staff and students. However, he raised concerns about the need for additional space, particularly for examination halls, as current facilities are insufficient.

The director also called for more facilities and staff to address issues of space and accommodation, which he believes would help prevent the batching of students and facilitate simultaneous examination schedules.
