The Service Compact Unit of the National Open University of Nigeria (SERVICOM-NOUN) concluded its final quarterly meeting for 2024 with a focus on selflessness and effective service delivery. The meeting, held on Monday, October 4, 2024, at the NOUN Headquarters, was led by Mrs. Foluke Adeniran, the newly-appointed Nodal Officer/Head of SERVICOM.

In her remarks, Adeniran reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to ensuring timely, fair, and transparent service delivery to all stakeholders. She emphasized SERVICOM’s core principle: “serve others as you like to be served.” Adeniran also reflected on her new role, noting the importance of integrity and selflessness in service delivery and the opportunity to engage with other SERVICOM stakeholders across various sectors.

Adeniran succeeded the retired Mrs. Margaret Boro and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve. She also acknowledged the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, for supporting the establishment of the National Open University of Nigeria Information Call Centre (NICC), which addresses student complaints and ensures timely resolutions.

In an interview, Adeniran highlighted her goal of fostering duty fulfillment and service to humanity, describing it as service to God. She also noted that SERVICOM’s Customer Service Week is part of a global initiative to ensure fair and effective service.

Looking ahead, Adeniran expressed optimism about improving the 2025 Customer Service Week with early planning and welcomed new ideas from SERVICOM representatives.
