NOUN's ACETEL Receives EIA Certificate After Building Inspection

Representatives from the Federal Ministry of Environment, Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), and Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) visited the Africa Centre of Excellence on Technology Enhanced Learning (ACETEL) to inspect its ongoing construction project. The visit aimed to ensure compliance with World Bank and National Building policies.

The team, having previously visited in March 2024 for an Impact Mitigation Exercise, conducted a follow-up inspection to verify the status of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Prof. Grace Jokthan, Director of ACETEL, guided the team during their visit, which included meeting with Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Godwin Akper on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olufemi Peters.

ACETEL’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Officer (HSE) Consultant, Omotunde Temitope, reported that all environmental parameters, including air, soil, and water quality, were within the limits specified by the ministry.
