NSUK Hosts 2026 IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast, Advocates for Green Chemistry and Sustainability
The Women in Chemistry (WIC), Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Chapter, in collaboration with NWISTEM and the IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast initiative, successfully hosted the 2026 Annual Breakfast Meeting themed “Many Voices, One Science” on Tuesday, 10th February 2026.
The event, held at the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences Boardroom, attracted royal fathers, faculty leadership, staff, and distinguished guests from neighbouring institutions.
In her welcome address, Professor S. S. Audu appreciated the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, for her continuous support in promoting women in science. Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of Green Chemistry, sustainability, global governance, effective communication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in advancing scientific innovation.
Key presentations were delivered by Professor Joseph B. Okoli of Bingham University and Professor M. Z. Zaruwa, who emphasized safety, sustainability, and the power of communication in global scientific practice.
The programme featured postgraduate presentations on Climate Change, presentation of gifts to the guest speaker, and concluded with group photographs.
