On Monday, October 14, 2024, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, welcomed a delegation from Avatar, the largest lithium mining company in Africa. The visit aimed to conduct a job fair focused on recruiting prospective graduates from the Department of Geology and Mining.
In her opening remarks, Professor Liman expressed gratitude to the Avatar team for choosing Nasarawa State University as the venue for this significant event. She highlighted her confidence in the Department of Geology and Mining, emphasizing that it equips students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to meet the company's specifications. “We are committed to producing graduates who can excel in the mining industry and contribute positively to the sector,” she affirmed.
Dr. Ktso Ngharbu, the Director of Linkages and International Cooperation, provided introductory remarks, reiterating the purpose of the Avatar team's visit. He noted that the job fair is a pivotal opportunity for students to connect with potential employers in their field.
