NSUK Vice-Chancellor Seeks Stronger Partnership with NEMA During Visit

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, has called for enhanced collaboration between the university and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The request was made during her visit to NEMA’s Director-General, Zubaida Umar, at the agency's headquarters in Abuja.
During the meeting, Professor Sa'adatu expressed gratitude for NEMA’s previous support, including the donation of an Automatic Weather Station to NSUK’s Department of Geography in 2022. She highlighted the need for further cooperation in areas such as staff training, joint research initiatives, and SIWES (Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme) placements for students.
In response, NEMA's Director-General, Zubaida Umar, congratulated Professor Sa'adatu on her historic appointment as the first female Vice-Chancellor of NSUK. She acknowledged the critical role women play in leadership and emphasized NEMA’s commitment to supporting the university in the areas of risk and disaster management.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor on the visit were key members of NSUK’s management team, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Theophilus Daniel Lagi, and the University Registrar, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II.
The visit underscored the strong ties between NSUK and NEMA and laid the groundwork for future partnerships aimed at fostering mutual growth and innovation.
