A significant milestone was achieved when the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) officially inducted 97 graduates of Bachelor of Nursing Sciences from Igbinedion University in Okada, Edo, into the nursing profession.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, the Vice-Chancellor of Igbinedion University, underscored the institution's substantial contributions to bolstering and enhancing the nation's healthcare system. He highlighted that the university had played a pivotal role by training over 725 professional nurses who are currently practicing both within and outside Nigeria.

Over the span of two decades, the Department of Nursing at Igbinedion University has consistently maintained a position of eminence and distinction in the academic arena. The excellence of the nurses it has produced has led to an ongoing surge in applications for admission to the IUO Nursing program, a demand the university is striving to meet.
