In a statement signed by its Executive President, Isah Gambo Ibbi, the union expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident that has left a significant impact on the residents of Damaturu and the entire Yobe State community.
"This unfortunate incident has deeply affected not only the residents of Damaturu but also the entire Yobe State. We, as students, stand in solidarity with all those impacted during this challenging time," the statement read.
The fire outbreak, which reportedly caused severe damage to properties and disrupted the lives of many families, has drawn widespread concern and sympathy from individuals and organizations across the state.
NUYOSS reassured the victims of their unwavering support, adding that their thoughts and prayers are with those affected as they begin the process of recovery and rebuilding.
"May Allah (SWT) grant them strength, comfort, and resilience to rebuild their lives," Ibbi stated, urging the community to remain united in the face of adversity.
The union called for collaborative efforts to assist the victims and pledged to stand with the affected individuals and families during this trying time.
