Brigadier General YD Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has urged newly posted corps members to embrace their assignments with dedication and enthusiasm. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch 'B' Stream II Orientation Course at the Magaji Dan Yamusa NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi, Nasarawa State, General Ahmed emphasized the importance of accepting postings in good faith and resisting the urge to seek reposting.

"Accept your postings in good faith and resist the temptation to seek reposting. Begin to make meaningful impact as you have been trained to do," General Ahmed said. He encouraged corps members to focus on contributing positively to their host communities and to serve as exemplary ambassadors of their families, the NYSC, and the nation.

The Director General highlighted that impactful contributions to community development will ensure the continued relevance of the NYSC Scheme. He reassured corps members of his administration’s commitment to their security and welfare but urged them to adhere to basic security measures and avoid risky behaviors.

General Ahmed concluded his address by stressing the value of selfless service and humility during the one-year national service. "As you embark on your one year national service, I urge you to approach it with humility and a spirit of selflessness," he added.
