NYSC Foundation Empowers Ex-Corps Members with N6 Million in Soft Loans for Businesses

In a positive move to support economic empowerment, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Foundation has distributed N6 million in soft loans to 15 ex-corps members. This initiative aims to boost their businesses and encourage the development of entrepreneurial skills.

During the loan disbursement event in Abuja, Mr. Francis Erekosima, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the foundation, highlighted the primary goal of empowering exiting and ex-corps members to not only be self-employed but also employers of labor. Beneficiaries received varying amounts, with some obtaining N400,000 and others N350,000. These funds are directed towards diverse ventures such as fish farming, rice milling, poultry, leatherworks (footwear), barbing, and cassava farming.

Mr. Erekosima emphasized that a total of 145 ex-corps members have benefited from the foundation's soft loans, ranging from N250,000 to N400,000. This effort contributes to the foundation's commitment to equipping young individuals with the necessary resources to establish and sustain their businesses.
