The Senate of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has approved the resumption of academic activities for the 2024/2025 academic session at its sitting on Thursday, 18th September, 2025.

Arrival of Fresh Students
The new session will open with the arrival of fresh students in phases:

  • Saturday, October 11, 2025: Faculties of Administration, Arts, Environmental Design and Management (EDM), Education, Law, and Social Sciences.
  • Sunday, October 12, 2025: Faculties of Agriculture, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Computing Science and Engineering, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology.

Registration and Orientation

  • Monday, October 13, 2025: Online course registration for fresh students begins.
  • Monday, October 13 – Friday, October 17, 2025: Orientation programme.
  • Monday, October 20 – Friday, October 24, 2025: ICT training.

Arrival of Returning Students

  • Sunday, October 26, 2025: All returning undergraduate students are expected back on campus.

Academic Activities

  • Monday, October 27, 2025: Lectures commence.
  • Friday, October 31, 2025: Normal course registration closes.
  • Monday, November 24 – Friday, November 28, 2025: Late registration with penalty.
  • Wednesday, December 3, 2025: Matriculation ceremony.

Semester Timeline

  • Harmattan Semester: October 2025 – March 2026 (13 weeks of lectures, one revision week, examinations, and breaks).
  • Rain Semester: Commences Monday, March 30, 2026.
