OAU Students Win Civil Engineering Writing Competition
The victorious team, named "Team OAU-CE" from the Department of Civil Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, received a cash prize of ₦250,000. The winning team members are Gbolahan Adigun (Team lead), John Akande, God’sfavour Olumuyiwa, and Lukuman Mufutau.
A team of four Civil Engineering undergraduates from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has secured the first prize in the Eco-Friendly Engineering Challenge Writing Competition organized by the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE). The competition, now in its third edition, revolves around climate change's impact on Civil Engineering structures.
Several entries were submitted by individuals and teams, with the top five entries being invited to the NICE 2023 Conference, held at the Nigeria Society of Engineers headquarters in Abuja from October 3rd to October 5th, 2023, for in-person presentations.

Additionally, the team lead, Gbolahan Adigun, represented the South-West Zone of NICE’s (Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers’ Students Affiliate) in an inter-zonal debate on "Environmental Sustainability VS Economic Sustainability" and secured first place.
