Addressing the graduands at the university's 2nd convocation ceremony, which saw 63 students graduating with First Class honors and 546 with Second Class Upper Division, Ologunorisa emphasized the importance of leveraging the skills and competencies acquired during their academic journey to make positive contributions to their communities, country, and the world.

The convocation, held at the university's main campus in Okitipupa, was graced by dignitaries including the Ondo State governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, top government officials, vice chancellors, community leaders, security agencies, parents, youths, and family friends of the graduands.

Ologunorisa expressed pride in the university's growth and expansion since its establishment in 2011, highlighting the addition of new schools such as Engineering and Engineering Technology, Management Sciences, Earth Science, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences. He noted that the university's School of Nursing had garnered significant interest, with 700 applicants vying for just 75 available slots in the latest admission cycle.

While celebrating the successful exhaustion of the university's admission quota for the first time, Ologunorisa also acknowledged the challenges facing OAUSTECH, including funding constraints, inadequate power supply, hostel accommodation shortages, and the ongoing construction of the proposed School of Maritime Transport and Logistics.

The Vice Chancellor extended gratitude to Governor Ayedatiwa for allocating N800 million in capital grants towards completing the School of Science, which had been previously abandoned. He appealed for the timely release of funds to facilitate the project's completion and enhance teaching, learning, and research activities at the university.

Furthermore, Ologunorisa urged the governor to consider increasing the university's monthly subvention, emphasizing the importance of adequate funding to recruit qualified professors and effectively pursue OAUSTECH's vision and mandate as a leading institution of higher learning.
