Ogun State Government Seals Unregistered Nursing School

The Ogun State Nursing and Midwifery Committee, in collaboration with the state Ministry of Health, has sealed another unregistered nursing training institute in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The institute, iFaat College of Nursing Sciences, located in Adigbe area of the state, was found to be training nursing students without obtaining accreditation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

Dr. Kayode Oladehinde, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, stated that the institute lacked adequate personnel and infrastructure required for standard nursing education. He emphasized the importance of accreditation from the regulators for nursing programs and advised the public to be cautious about schools that claim to offer nursing sciences courses.

The proprietor of the institution, Mr. Stephen Fatula, acknowledged the need for accreditation and pledged to abide by the terms of the regulators. This action follows the recent closure of another unaccredited nursing department in the state.
