A 400-level female student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, identified as Adaze Jaja, has reportedly committed suicide. The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed that the 31-year-old was found dead in a hotel room.

The undergraduate was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The scene of the incident was visited, and the empty bottle of insecticide was recovered. The body of the deceased has been taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University mortuary for an autopsy.

This tragic event follows similar cases of suicide in the region, highlighting the importance of mental health awareness and support services. Last December, a 33-year-old individual reportedly committed suicide in the Ibafo area of the state, underscoring the need for increased attention to mental health issues in society.The circumstances surrounding Jaja's death are under investigation by the relevant authorities.
