Oguntoyinbo Damilare Joshua has emerged as the winner of the prestigious Dele Odule Prize for the Best Graduating Student in the Department of Theatre and Media Arts at the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).

Graduating with an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.65, Oguntoyinbo was recognized for his academic excellence and significant contributions to the department. The award was presented during the groundbreaking EDUTECHMENT ceremony, organized by FUOYE’s Directorate of Advancement. The event, aimed at inspiring students and promoting educational innovation, was graced by several notable personalities, including renowned Nollywood icons Toyin Adegbola and Peju Ogunmola.

The announcement was made by veteran Nigerian actor and President of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Chief Dele Odule, who instituted the prize to encourage excellence in theatre and media studies.

In his acceptance speech, Oguntoyinbo expressed profound gratitude to FUOYE, the department, and Chief Dele Odule for the esteemed recognition.

"I am happy for today. I want to especially appreciate the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, for providing an enabling environment that allowed me to thrive. I also want to thank Chief Dele Odule for this great award. I am so grateful to you, and I promise that this initiative will inspire me to achieve even more in my academic endeavors," Oguntoyinbo stated.

The Director of the Directorate of Advancement, Professor Mrs. Olubukola Oyawoye, also extended her appreciation to Chief Dele Odule for his generous support in recognizing academic brilliance.
