A student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Modupe Ayandare, was found dead outside the university campus on Monday. Ayandare, a 500-level student in the Department of Agronomy, was discovered hanging beside the church she attended, located off-campus.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the institution’s Students Union Government, Olaogbebikan Noble, expressed the union's deep dissatisfaction and sorrow over Ayandare's death. Noble stated that efforts are underway to investigate the cause of the incident.

"We express our strong dissatisfaction and agony concerning the death of our student, Ayandare Modupe, a 500-level student of the Department of Agronomy and the Agronomy Departmental President," the statement read. "The deceased was said to have committed suicide in the early hours of today, around 4 am, after finishing a vigil at her church. The incident happened beside the church she attended around Spotless Villa."

The statement also mentioned that law enforcement agencies have been informed and are working to uncover the details surrounding the incident. The Students' Union has urged anyone with information to come forward to assist with the investigation.

Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the state police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident and stated that the police are actively working to determine the cause of Ayandare's death.
