Outstanding Nigerian Graduate Earns First-Class Degree in Accounting with 4.57 CGPA

A brilliant Nigerian student, Soliat Olabiran, has graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University with a first-class degree in Accounting, earning a remarkable 4.57 cumulative grade point average (CGPA). 

Reflecting on her academic journey, Soliat shared that she started strong with a perfect 5.00 GPA in her first semester, which gave her great confidence. 

However, as time passed, maintaining that level of performance became increasingly difficult.

By her third year, she made a startling discovery—she had miscalculated her CGPA and was no longer on track for a first-class degree. Rather than give up, she decided to push harder.

In the second semester of her third year, Soliat bounced back with another perfect 5.00 GPA, which reignited her motivation. 

From that point onward, she maintained a rigorous academic discipline, worked tirelessly, and kept her eyes on the goal. Her resilience paid off. 

Not only did she graduate with distinctions, but she also became a Chartered Accountant and successfully managed a fashion business alongside her studies.

Soliat admitted that juggling academics and entrepreneurship was overwhelming at times, but she never lost sight of her goals. 

Looking back, she says every challenge, sleepless night, and moment of doubt was worth it. She credits her success to resilience, discipline, and support from her family, mentors, and friends. 

Soliat encourages others to remain optimistic in the face of setbacks and to never let temporary challenges define their journey.
