PCU VC Pledges Continued Priority to Self-Discovery

The Vice Chancellor of Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Ibadan, Professor Timothy Adejumo, reaffirmed the institution's commitment to fostering excellence in character building, human dignity enhancement, and self-discovery through quality education. This statement was made on Monday during the second International Conference of the Nigeria Society for Microbial Ecology (NSME), held at PCU.
The conference, themed "Microbial Dynamics at the Nexus of Environment: Exploring Interdisciplinary Approaches for a Sustainable Environment," brought together leading experts in the field. Professor Adejumo highlighted the university's dedication to promoting the exchange of scientific information and encouraging dialogue on the latest advancements in microbial ecology.
NSME, an affiliate of the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME) based in the Netherlands, is a non-profit association that supports the field of microbial ecology. It aims to provide platforms for connection, interaction, and the organization of scientific events. Additionally, NSME sponsors problem-solving research and publishes high-impact journals featuring groundbreaking research.
During his address, Professor Adejumo emphasized NSME's role in supporting the broader community of microbial ecologists by facilitating research, education, and the dissemination of knowledge. He expressed the society's vision of building a world-class community that fosters innovative, collaborative, and multidisciplinary research. This effort aims to effectively communicate microbial ecology knowledge to scientists, policymakers, and the public.

These distinguished academics presented leading research papers and contributed to the vibrant exchange of ideas at the event.
