Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has officially inaugurated a six-man Governing Council for the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), with Chinyeaka Ohaa appointed as the chairman.

The other members of the council include Ikenna Chukwu, James Ifeanyi, Gladys Okoro, Chinedu Onu, and Eric Oluedo.

In his address at the Executive Council Hall, Government House, Enugu, Governor Mbah emphasized the significance of education in combating poverty and fostering development. He stressed that the selection of council members was based on competence, expressing confidence in their ability to serve the institution and the state effectively.

He also outlined various educational initiatives, including the construction of smart schools and the establishment of centers for experimental learning and innovation hubs.

In response, Chinyeaka Ohaa, speaking on behalf of the council, expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to work diligently to meet the governor's targets. Ohaa noted that over 80 percent of the council members were ESUT graduates, underscoring their personal connection to the university and their commitment to its success.
