Plogging Nigeria Club Organizes Successful Cleanup Exercise at Usmanu Danfodiyo University

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the Plogging Nigeria Club at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), held its inaugural cleanup exercise, tagged Plogging Episode 001 (PES 001). The event aimed to promote a cleaner and healthier campus environment.

 

The exercise, which commenced at the school stadium, involved students from various departments who actively participated in cleaning the halls of residence, walkways, and surrounding areas. The event concluded at the Management Information System (MIS) Unit.

The large turnout of students made the exercise engaging and unique. Participants were provided with protective gear, including gloves and nose masks, to ensure a safe and effective cleanup.

 

Bello Sherifdeen, the coordinator of the event, expressed his excitement and appreciation for the students' commitment to environmental sanitation. "Plogging Nigeria is here to equip students with the necessary tools and motivation for voluntary service. It's a great way to keep fit while keeping our environment clean."

Adekeye Muhammad, a 300-level MBBS student and volunteer, shared his experience: "The exercise was fantastic. It felt great to contribute to keeping our school environment clean."

 

The successful execution of Plogging Episode 001 marks a promising start for the Plogging Nigeria Club at UDUS, encouraging students to take active roles in environmental sustainability.
