PPSN Pays Courtesy Visit to FUNAAB VC Ahead of 113th Inaugural Lecture

The Council of the Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN) on Tuesday, April 22, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, in a show of support for the University’s 113th Inaugural Lecture.

The Council of the Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN) on Tuesday, April 22, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, in a show of support for the University’s 113th Inaugural Lecture.

The delegation visited in solidarity with the Society’s President and Inaugural Lecturer, Prof. Sam Olufemi Sam-Wobo, ahead of the lecture themed “As the Heart Thinks, So It Is: The Story of Parasites.”

Receiving the team, Prof. Kehinde described Prof. Sam-Wobo as a committed and highly engaged member of the university community, commending his contributions across teaching, research, and service.

He also congratulated the Society on its forthcoming 2026 annual conference scheduled to hold at FUNAAB in October, assuring that the University Management was fully prepared to provide the necessary support and enabling environment for a successful event. He added that efforts were ongoing to secure full registration for the Department of Public Health ahead of the conference.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Vice-President I of PPSN, Prof. Gideon Amuga, expressed appreciation to the University for its consistent support and recognition of the Society. He also commended the Management’s commitment to hosting the upcoming conference.

The visit featured the presentation of the PPSN Manual to the Vice-Chancellor by former Society President, Prof. Martins Aisien, marking a symbolic gesture of collaboration and continuity within the professional body.
