Prof. Rosemary Ogu Elected as UNIPORT New Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics)

The University of Port Harcourt has elected Prof. Rosemary Ogu as its new Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics). Prof. Ogu, a renowned Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist and academic, was elected during the 488th Extraordinary Senate Meeting.

Prof. Ogu is a graduate of the University of Benin, where she earned her with distinction. She holds Fellowships from both the West African College of Surgeons and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. She also has a Master's degree in Reproductive Health.

As the immediate past Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at UNIPORT & UPTH, Prof. Ogu is a prolific researcher with publications in prestigious journals. She serves as the National President of the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria and is a faculty board member of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.

Alongside Prof. Ogu, two other professors were elected to key positions: Prof. Chukwudi Onyeasor as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Prof. Angela Frank-Briggs as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Development).
