Professor Eugenia Member George-Genyi Makes History as First Female Substantive DVC Administration at RADU

Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, is pleased to announce the official assumption of office of Professor Eugenia Member George-Genyi as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration). The formal handover ceremony took place on May 18, 2026, at the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration).

During the ceremony, Professor Member George-Genyi, the first female substantive Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the institution, called for prayers, support, and collaboration from all members of the university community as she embarks on her new role. She emphasized that the university operates a collegial system where teamwork and unity are essential for sustained progress and development.

The outgoing Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Priscilla Mwuese Utoo, expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve in the position. She encouraged her successor to seek divine wisdom and strength in navigating the challenges associated with the office.

Former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and erstwhile Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Nicholas Akise Ada, also addressed the gathering. He commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, for appointing Professor George-Genyi to the role. He advised her to remain dedicated, disciplined, and committed to her responsibilities, while maintaining loyalty to the Vice-Chancellor and fostering cordial relationships with staff, students, and visitors.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Benjamin Gowon Ahule, congratulated Professor George-Genyi on her appointment and assured her of the faculty’s full support towards ensuring a successful tenure.

Also speaking, the Head of the Department of Religion and Cultural Studies, Professor Victor Terna Igbum, urged the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor to remain focused, committed, and undistracted in the discharge of her duties.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the dedication of the office, conducted by Father Terungwa Tor, Chaplain of the Good Shepherd Catholic Chaplaincy, assisted by Father Boniface Ahula and the Chaplaincy Catechist, Raphael Okplogidi.

This marks a new chapter in the leadership of the university, and the entire university community wishes Professor Member George-Genyi a successful and impactful tenure.
