Profiles of the Newly Appointed Bursar, Librarian and Directors at Adeyemi Federal University of Education

The Governing Council of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, has approved the appointment of a substantive Bursar, University Librarian, and two Directors. The appointments took effect from 13 August 2025.

The Governing Council of Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo, has approved the appointment of a substantive Bursar, University Librarian, and two Directors. The appointments took effect from 13 August 2025.

The newly appointed officers are:

  • Mrs. Taiwo Olufunmilayo Adedoyin – Bursar
  • Dr. Azino Oscarand Akpokurerie – University Librarian
  • Engr. Kehinde Folorunsho Akintade – Director, Physical Planning, Works and Services
  • Dr. Ibukun-Ola Eddison Johnson – Director, Health Services

Mrs. Taiwo Olufunmilayo Adedoyin – Bursar

Born on 14 June 1973, Adedoyin attended Federal Government Girls’ College, Akure, where she obtained her SSCE in 1990. She proceeded to Ondo State University, now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, earning a B.Sc (Hons) in Accounting in 1997. She later obtained an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a Diploma in Computer Techniques and Applications (Advanced) from the University of Ibadan.

Her career began during her NYSC service at Trans International Bank Plc, Head Office, Ibadan. She joined Adeyemi College of Education, now AFUED, in May 1999 as Accountant II and rose through the ranks to Deputy Bursar in May 2015, before her latest appointment as Bursar.

Adedoyin is a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA), Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria, and Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (ICPAN). She currently serves as a member of the Anti-Corruption Strategy Committee of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.

She has attended numerous international and local conferences on Accounting and related fields. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, and traveling. She is married to Dr. A. A. Adedoyin, a medical practitioner.

Dr. Azino Oscarand Akpokurerie – University Librarian

Dr. Akpokurerie obtained a B.Sc.Ed (Hons) in Library Science from Delta State University, Abraka, followed by a Master’s and Doctorate in Library and Information Science – Information Technology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

He has over 20 years of professional experience, serving in various capacities at major institutions including Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic, Federal Polytechnic Ekowe, and Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. He also served as Acting University Librarian at AFUED before this appointment.

Akpokurerie has contributed extensively to academic research with over 84 publications in local and international journals. He is married and blessed with children.

Engr. Kehinde Folorunsho Akintade – Director, Physical Planning, Works and Services

Born 54 years ago in Ondo, Akintade holds a B.Eng in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (1990–1997), and a Master’s in Environmental Management from the University of Ado-Ekiti (2000–2002).

He joined AFUED in April 1999 as Engineer II and rose to become Chief Engineer and later Deputy Director in the Directorate of Physical Planning, Works and Services between 2013 and 2017.

He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE), and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). Akintade is married with children.

Dr. Ibukun-Ola Eddison Johnson – Director, Health Services

Born 55 years ago in Irun Akoko, Ondo State, Dr. Johnson obtained an MBBS from the University of Benin in 1999 and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 2022.

He joined AFUED in 2007 as a Medical Officer and rose to Principal Medical Officer by 2024. Over the years, he served in various roles including Coordinator of Clinical Meetings at the Health Centre, Staff Adviser for Prevent Aids Society, and member of several University committees. He also took a sabbatical as Director of Health Services at Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, between 2024 and 2025.

Dr. Johnson is married with children.
