It was an atmosphere of gratitude and celebration on wednesday, February 11, 2026, as the Governing Council of the National  Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) organized a send-off programme in honor of Professor Olufemi Ayinde Peters, who successfully completed his five year tenure as Vice Chancellor.

Prof. Peters, who assumed office in 2021, was widely praised for his visionary leadership and commitment to advancing open and distance learning in Nigeria. Under his stewardship, NOUN recorded significant milestones, including:

  • Strengthening of e-learning platforms and digital infrastructure.
