Rector Flags Off Construction of New Students’ Hostel at Federal Polytechnic Oko

Efforts to improve students’ living conditions at Federal Polytechnic Oko received a boost as the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, formally inaugurated the construction of a new hostel project at the institution’s Students’ Village.

The development, funded through the 2025 TETFund Special Intervention, is expected to expand accommodation capacity and contribute to a more supportive learning environment for students.

During the foundation ceremony, the Rector highlighted the importance of quality infrastructure in advancing academic excellence, stressing that the institution remains committed to creating facilities that support students’ welfare and educational growth. She further assured that necessary support would be provided to ensure seamless implementation of the project.

The contractor, in his remarks, assured Management of timely completion, promising to execute the assignment professionally and in line with approved specifications.

The consultant overseeing the project commended the Rector for her commitment to institutional growth, describing the initiative as another milestone in the Polytechnic’s infrastructural transformation.

The Director of TETFund, Dr. Helen Nnabuenyi later appreciated all stakeholders for their cooperation and support in bringing the project to reality.

The event witnessed the presence of principal officers and staff members of the Polytechnic, while expectations remain high that the facility will offer students improved and modern accommodation upon completion.
