Redeemer's University, during the public launch of seven new books authored by Prof. Tunde Ope-Davies, Founder and Director of the Centre for Digital Humanities, University of Lagos, witnessed a call for greater investment in research and scholarship by its Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe.

Delivering the keynote address titled “The Power of Research and Scholarship in Human Capital Development and Societal Advancement,” Prof. Ogundipe underscored the essential role of sustained research in driving national growth, innovation, and problem-solving. He emphasized that nations neglecting research risk stagnation, while those investing in scholarship empower citizens to develop authentic solutions to local and global challenges.

Prof. Ogundipe praised Prof. Ope-Davies for his three decades of groundbreaking work in digital humanities, describing him as an “incurable mentor” whose dedication has inspired generations of scholars across Africa.
