In a distressing incident, two first-year female students from Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, were brutally raped by armed robbers. The incident occurred early Monday morning, around 12:30 am, when the robbers stormed students' apartments.

According to a source within the institution, the suspects, armed with guns, coerced the students into surrendering their phones and other personal belongings. The robbers then led the students to an uncompleted building, where they took turns assaulting them.

Police spokesperson Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident from Abeokuta, the state capital. “The incident was reported at the Igbeba Police Division around 10 am. Our operatives immediately began searching the area for the suspects. Efforts are in full swing to apprehend everyone involved in this heinous crime,” she stated.

The survivors have been taken to the school clinic for medical treatment and support.
