SLUK Hosts Numerical Optimisation Research Group Ahead of Maiden International Conference

Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (SLUK) has received a visit from Bayero University Kano's Numerical Optimisation Research Group. The group's president, Professor Mohammed Yusuf Waziri, briefed SLUK Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, on the group's activities, achievements, and research grants.

The group has secured two international research grants in Malaysia and established four international collaborations and partnerships. Notably, six members of the group, including Dr. Abubakar Halilu from SLUK, were featured among the top 500 mathematics researchers in Africa by the Elsevier Database in 2024.

The Vice-Chancellor commended Dr. Halilu's achievement and pledged to support the group in its maiden international conference, "New Developments in Applied and Computational Mathematics (ICoNDACoM 2025)". The conference aims to bring together experts to share knowledge and advancements in applied and computational mathematics.
