Rachael Olufogbe, a 300-level student at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, has been apprehended by the police for allegedly attacking a fellow female student during a dispute over a drying line in a private hostel.

The incident, which occurred in Oye Egbo community outside the university premises, escalated from a disagreement over the arrangement of clothes on the drying line. Olufogbe reportedly objected when the victim moved her clothes to create space, leading to a verbal altercation that turned violent.

Prof. Sunday Fashina, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, confirmed the incident, emphasizing that such actions are strictly prohibited within the campus premises. He assured that the police are handling the matter and that the university will conduct its own investigation once the police report is received.

Efforts to reach the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, for further details proved unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
