Taraba State University Extends Registration Deadline Following NELFUND Intervention
This extension comes in response to the imminent disbursement of student loans for several students at the university who applied through NELFUND.
Taraba State University, Jalingo, has announced an extension of its registration deadline, thanks to the successful intervention by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). The original deadline, set for August 9th, 2024, has been extended to a new date that will be announced soon.
This extension comes in response to the imminent disbursement of student loans for several students at the university who applied through NELFUND. Understanding the potential impact on these students' academic progress, NELFUND advocated for the extension to ensure all eligible students have the opportunity to complete their registration.
During a visit to NELFUND’s headquarters, Taraba State University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Bako, discussed the challenges faced by students awaiting loan disbursement with NELFUND’s Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr. The discussions emphasized the importance of removing financial barriers to student registration.
Mr. Sawyerr reaffirmed NELFUND’s commitment to ensuring that no Nigerian student is left behind due to financial constraints. He expressed gratitude to the management of Taraba State University for their swift response in accommodating the needs of their students during this critical time.
NELFUND remains dedicated to supporting students across Nigeria in accessing the financial resources they need to pursue higher education and is committed to empowering the next generation of Nigerian leaders.
