Taraba State University Students Union (TASSU) President Visits Assaulted Student

Early today, the leader of Capacity, TASSU President,Comr. RE Shamaki, visited a student who was viciously attacked in his room, behind Star Exclusive. The victim, Shishi Ali Ibrahim, popularly known as Akaha, was attacked by unknown assailants, who broke into his room at approximately 12 am. The attackers assaulted him with a cutlass, his neighbors take him to Nati Zion clinic for immediate medical attention. Subsequently, he was transferred to FMC, accompanied by the DSS patrol team for further care.

Expressing his gratitude, Akaha appreciated Comr. RE Shamaki and the entire Taraba State University community for their support during this challenging time. He also conveyed his appreciation to the DSS patrol team, acknowledging that it was by the grace of God that they were present on duty during the incident. Akaha further commended the DSS for their efforts in making their contact information readily available to the public in case of similar incidents.

In light of this incident, TASSU President Re Shamaki urged all students to exercise caution in the company they keep. He emphasized the university's commitment, in collaboration with the Student Union Government (SUG) president, to address issues of insecurity within the school environment. Efforts are underway to develop strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing the safety and well-being of all students.
