TETFund Assessment Team Visits BUK's Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainability Transitions

A Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Assessment Team visited the Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainability Transitions (CREST) at Bayero University Kano (BUK) to identify challenges faced by the center and extend support towards addressing them for better performance.

Led by Professor Hadiza Shehu Galadanci, Director of the Africa Center of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP), the team aimed to assess CREST, make observations, suggestions, and forward its recommendations to the TETFund Management as part of its mandate.

Professor Galadanci revealed that BUK's Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainability Transitions was recognized as a Centre of Excellence by TETFund in 2020 with a five-year project plan. "It is crucial for us to assess and trace challenges, as well as identify what is needed to support the Centre's success," she emphasized.

The team also paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor on Monday, April 8, 2024, briefing him on their observations and informing him of what needed to be done to improve the Centre. Professor Galadanci commended the University management for providing necessary support to the Centre.
