TETFund to Establish 24 Skills Centres

The Federal Government, through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has announced plans to establish more than 24 skills and innovation centres across Nigeria.

Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, revealed this during a visit to Innov8 Hub in Abuja, accompanied by key stakeholders including TETFund's Executive Secretary, Sonny Echono.Innov8 Hub serves as a focal point for Innovation Start-up Incubation, Technology Transfer, Knowledge & Skill Impartation, and Prototype Development and Fabrication.

He commended TETFund and Innov8 Hub for their efforts in providing platforms for practical research and skill development, highlighting their role in empowering young Nigerians for meaningful livelihoods.However, Mamman lamented the lack of off-takers and emphasized the need for industry collaboration. He pledged government support to bridge the gap between researchers and industries, aiming to train students and equip them with necessary skills.
