Tragic Accident Claims Abia State Poly Graduate

Tragedy struck Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, as tears flowed freely following the untimely demise of Miss Ezekiel Mary Ogechi, a promising fresh graduate. Ogechi, who had just completed her academic clearance in anticipation of joining the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme, met her unfortunate end when a fast-moving tanker crushed her in front of the institution.
The young graduate, described as a shining light in her department with distinctions in accounting, had excitedly shared her anticipation of joining the NYSC with her classmates moments before the tragic incident occurred. Reports indicate that she had even secured a scholarship for a post-graduate course, reflecting her academic prowess and promising future.

Eyewitnesses recounted that Ogechi was struck by a tricycle while attempting to cross the road, only to be subsequently crushed by the speeding tanker before she could recover. The news of her death sparked outrage among students, leading to a spontaneous protest on the campus.

However, the situation was contained by the swift intervention of the management of Abia State Polytechnic and the Students Union Government, who pleaded with the aggrieved students to maintain calm. As of now, the institution has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
