The Chief Medical Director of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, has been honoured with an award by the Youth Development Parliament on October 9, 2025.

Presenting the award, the Honourable Speaker of the Youth Development Parliament, Rt. Hon. Wealth Akerele, said the recognition was in appreciation of Professor Otegbayo’s excellence in his professional career and his outstanding service to humanity.

Rt. Hon. Akerele described Professor Otegbayo as “an energetic, purposeful, efficient, resourceful, brave, intelligent, diligent, dynamic, brilliant, and unique individual widely regarded as humble, humane, loving, caring, and an attentive listener — a great enigma and a colossal figure of our era.”

As part of the ceremony, Professor Otegbayo was also inducted and conferred as the Continental Patron of the Youth Development Parliament.

In his acceptance speech, Professor Otegbayo expressed gratitude to the Parliament for the honour, acknowledging the significance of the award and commending the organization for its dedication to youth empowerment and development.
