UDUS Alumnus Uchenna Emelife Honored in ILA's 30 Under 30 List

Uchenna Emelife, a graduate of Literature in English from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), has been recognized globally for his outstanding contributions to literacy education.
Emelife has been named to the International Literacy Association's (ILA) 2025 30 Under 30 list, which showcases emerging leaders transforming literacy education and promoting equity in classrooms and communities.
Emelife's exceptional work with Book O'clock, an initiative he founded in Sokoto State to promote reading and literature, earned him this prestigious recognition. The ILA 30 Under 30 list features changemakers from 12 countries who are driving innovations and advocating for accessible, inclusive learning experiences.
According to Nicola Wedderburn, ILA Executive Director, "The young leaders on our 2025 30 Under 30 list exemplify our belief that literacy is a pathway to opportunity, equity, and empowerment. They are the advocates, educators, and innovators redefining what literacy means in an ever-changing world."
