UDUS Commences Verification Exercise, Promises Commitment to Students

The Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has on Monday, 11th September, 2023 commenced a verification exercise with the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Arts, and the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies taking the lead, myschoolnews Report.

The exercise is scheduled to certified the bonafide students of the University

Recall that the school management has earlier released a circular signed by the Secretary of the Verification committee, expressing its readiness to screen and verify every student.

Moreso, in another circular signed by Prof. A.M. Inuwa, the Chairman of the Verification Committee, commented that each faculty has been assigned a different day for the screening exercise to avoid overcrowding and the exercise will run within a specified period of two weeks; starting from Monday, 11th September to Friday, 22nd September.

While addressing the students before the commencement of the exercise at Multipurpose Hall 2 (MH2), Prof. A.M. Inuwa disclosed that every student will be given a card that will certify them as a legal student of the university, and the card will only grant them an access to notification of result when the students conclude their Degree program.

Contrarily, he noted that failure of any student to appear for the exercise indicates that the student got entrance into the university with fake certificates, and his studentship is at risk.

"The school scheduled this program to verify every legal student of the university. Every student will be given a card upon completion of his verification exercise to show that he has passed through the screening," said Prof. Inuwa.

He further revealed that both the school management and the lecturers have dedicated their time and energy to ensure effectiveness of the exercise to serve students better; pleaded with the students to exercise decorum throughout the exercise.

"The students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University were known for their good behavior. I urge you to maintain this good behavior throughout the exercise," he enjoined.

In an interview with The News Digest Press, Yahya Ibrahim, a 200-Level student from the faculty of Agriculture expressed his gladness to pass the verification successfully after sitting for almost 2 hours.

"Alhamdulillahi! I have been verified. It's not something difficult as long as you possess all the credentials required for the exercise. But if you're unable to provide all of the necessary documents, some of your credentials like confirmation letters will be withheld."

While speaking with The News Digest Press, Durojaye Bashirat, a 200-Level student from the Department of Mass Communication failed to pass the verification exercise due to her failure to possess every document required for the exercise.

"I'm unable to complete the verification because my original Neco result is not with me. My confirmation letter was withheld and I was advised by one of the officers to come back after I have gotten a notification from my secondary school," she lamented.
