Atitebi Aminat, a 200-level Business Administration student at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS), has shared her challenging experience as a new student in the university.

In her writer's diary, Aminat recounted her stressful journey from Ibadan to Sokoto, where the bus broke down in a dangerous area, leaving her and other passengers stranded for hours. She also described her disappointment and surprise at the poor state of the hostel, which lacked basic amenities like light and water.

Aminat's experience was further compounded by unfriendly students who misled her and laughed at her, terming her a "Jambito" (a local name for fresh students who gained admission through JAMB). However, she eventually found help from a kind student who guided her to the confirmation hall, where she obtained her confirmation letter.
