The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Kayode Adebowale, has reiterated the institution’s dedication to the holistic growth and welfare of its students. This commitment was emphasized during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-elected Students Union (SU) Executives for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Professor Adebowale highlighted the pivotal role of the Student Union Executive in advocating for student rights, fostering community engagement, and bridging the gap between the administration and the student body. In his remarks, the Dean of Students, Prof. I. A. Abiona, advised the new executives to utilize the knowledge gained during their orientation and prioritize dialogue over confrontation in addressing issues. He urged them to adhere strictly to the institution's rules and regulations, guided by the Students Information Handbook.

Outgoing Student Union President, Mr. Samuel Tobiloba Samson, urged the new executives to prioritize students' needs and build upon existing foundations. He emphasized the importance of serving diligently and collaborating with the university to address pressing concerns.

The newly inaugurated Student Union President, Mr. Bolaji Damilola Aweda, pledged to enhance the existing framework by fostering collaboration with the school management and external organizations.
