UI VC Describes NYSC as Vital Tool for National Unity

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, has described the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as a vital tool for promoting national unity, discipline, and youth development in Nigeria.

Professor Adebowale made this statement while receiving a delegation from the NYSC Headquarters, Abuja, led by the Deputy Director of NYSC Mobilization, Dr. Abraham Oludolapo Ayodeji.

The Vice-Chancellor commended the NYSC for sustaining the vision of national integration and bridging cultural and ethnic divides among Nigerian youths. He noted that the scheme has contributed significantly to building responsible graduates and strengthening unity across the country.

The NYSC team, which included Dr. Ayodeji, visited the university to sensitize final-year students on the NYSC registration and mobilization processes. The team also highlighted the importance of maintaining accurate academic data and ensuring that affiliated institutions align their course titles with those approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) .
