The Dein of Agbor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty  Kiagbokuzi the first, Obi Ikenchukwu, has been commended for his  enormous contributions to the development of the University of Delta, Agbor and humanity in general.

The Vice Chancellor of University of Delta, Agbor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke made the commendation when a delegation of chiefs from Agbor Kingdom paid the Management a courtesy visit.

Prof. Chiemeke said the University has been following the activities of the Dein of Agbor Kingdom and has been impressed by his valuable contributions to national development.

She appealed to the Royal father to look into the case of exorbitant house rent being paid by students in his kingdom adding that it has impacted negatively on the lives of the students given the poor economic situation in the country.

Earlier, chief Benjamin Ogwu, the Okwudein Ukpe of Agbor Kingdom expressed satisfaction with the infrastructural development in the University.

Chief Ogwu appealed to the management to employ more of their people in the University, assuring that the issue of  astronomical increase in rents would be urgently looked into in order  assuage the sufferings of the students.

The chiefs were received by the Vice Chancellor along side the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Patricia Mbah, the Registrar Barrister Richmond Omagbemi, the Bursar Mr. Sunny Ikeogwu and the Librarian Dr. Vera Okonoko.
