The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has expressed immense pride in the achievements of one of its distinguished alumni, Prof Azeez Butali, who was recently appointed as an Endowed Professor at the University of Iowa.

At a celebration party held in Lagos, the Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof Folasade Ogunsola, lauded Butali for his significant contributions to the field of dentistry and his impact on lives within and outside the institution. She described Butali as a professional with a large heart and a shining example of the university’s alumni.

The event was attended by other dignitaries and medical professionals, including the Chief Medical Director, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Prof. Wasiu Adeyemo, and the President of the Association of Movie Producers, Queen Blessing Ebigieson.

Butali, a Dental Scientist, joined the College of Dentistry at the University of Iowa in 2013 after completing his postdoctoral fellowship in Craniofacial Genetics at the same university. The Endowed Professorship is the highest academic rank the university can bestow on any faculty.
