Distinguished Professor Cecilia Ihuoma Igwilo (OON), a retired academic from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos (UNILAG), has received dual honours, cementing her legacy in the field of Health Sciences in Nigeria.

In September 2024, Professor Igwilo was elected as the 1st Vice-President of the Nigeria Academy of Pharmacy, becoming a key leader in advancing pharmaceutical education and practice nationwide. This recognition was followed on October 26, 2024, with her appointment as a Foundation Fellow by the Academy of Medicine Specialties of Nigeria, a prestigious acknowledgment of her contributions to medical and health sciences.
