The University of Lagos (UNILAG) Senate has celebrated three esteemed professors ahead of their retirement from active government service in March 2025. The recognition took place during the Senate meeting on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, as the university community honored their dedication and contributions to academia.

The retiring professors are Professor Gregory Osas Simire from the Department of European & Integration Studies, Professor Catherine Oyenike Oke from the Department of Science Education, and Professor Ndukaeze Nwabueze from the Department of Sociology.

Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, commended the trio for their invaluable service to the university and their significant impact on knowledge advancement.
