UNILAG Welcomes Senate Committee on Public Procurement Visitation Team
UNILAG Hosts Senate Committee on Public Procurement Visitation Team for Evaluation of TETFund Intervention Projects
The University of Lagos is presently playing host to a 7-member Visitation Team from the Senate Committee on Public Procurement. Led by the former Commissioner for Budget and Planning in Edo State, Hon. Dr. Lawrence Aghedo, the team commenced its visit on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Upon arrival, the team proceeded to the Council Chamber for an evaluation of procurement activities related to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) intervention projects across Federal and State Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education in the South West Zone. The assessment covers the period from 2020 to the present date.

The Senate Committee on Public Procurement holds the responsibility of overseeing the execution of procurement activities in Federal and State Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, including entities established by the constitution and Acts of the National Assembly. Their mandate includes ensuring compliance with the Public Procurement Act (2007).
This comprehensive assessment is scheduled to continue until Tuesday, November 14, 2023, reflecting the committee's commitment to overseeing and ensuring transparency and adherence to procurement regulations in higher education institutions.
